About The Role: 

We are seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in building a comprehensive and effective software testing strategy. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of automated test suites across various application functionalities, with a focus on end-to-end testing, accessibility, performance, and exploratory approaches.

Our “remote with roots” model allows us to work where we thrive and gather as needed, often in our home office in Columbia, Missouri. This role can be performed from anywhere in the continental U.S., with the exception of Montana.

What You'll Do: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using modern programming languages and tools
• Champion accessibility testing practices, ensuring our software adheres to WCAG guidelines
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues
• Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans for new features and functionalities
• Collaborate with development teams throughout the SDLC, providing valuable insights and ensuring effective test coverage, including load and performance testing
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, staying abreast of industry best practices

What You'll Bring: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an SDET or a related software testing role
• Proven track record of leading the design and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and methodologies
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript)
• Experience testing at various levels throughout the SDLC (unit, integration, system, regression)
